There’s a Gambian Food Stall that has opened up at Deptford Market; you can catch them there on Fridays and the weekends – I have forgotten their name (hope to update you guys soon) but I certainly haven’t forgotten to remind our community that there are a host of small-medium sized Gambian inspired supper clubs and food popup shops humbly scattered within London’s diverse African Food Joints Scene.

They have fresh arrivals of ‘Kabba’, Delicious Palm oil from Guinea and Bisaap Amut amongst others from their East Ham base. An essential Gambian supermarket based in the heart of East London – do pay them a visit and mention how you found out about them via this blog post. The staff are very friendly also – and they have a van that regularly travels to the midlands and north of the country to serve the community outside London – #Good on them =)

Probably the best Senegambia Supperclub in London and if not the country; Little Baobab quite simply put = rock. I’ve been there many times, Resident Chef Khadim is a man that knows what he’s doing when it comes to Thiébou dieune,Yassa, Maffé and more. Make sure you keep updated via their Facebook page to see when their next supper club will pop-up! Email littlebaobabuk@gmail.com or call 07864947632 to book your place! Yes; they’re originally Senegalese – but worthy of a place within this article amongst our Gambian brothers.

5) GAMBY SHACK

This is Lamin (pictured above) who runs The Gamby Shack at Netil Market selling Gambian inspired food. He is Gambian and has lived in the uk for over 21 years. Find Lamin & Mo in their shack almost always, creating incredible and healthy Afro-Caribbean soul food. Open at lunchtimes throughout the week, there is no better value meal in Hackney.
