Interested? CIRCULAR ECONOMY: FOOD WASTE

Date: Thu 30 November 2017 | Time: 18:30 – 22:00pm |Venue: Techspace, 25 Luke Street, London EC2A 4AR | Hosts: Cloud Pioneer | FB: /CloudSustainability16 | Twitter: @CloudPioneer | Linkedin: /in/Cloud-Sustainability | YouTube: /Cloud-Sustainability | Vimeo: /v/Cloud-Sustainability | RSVP: here
Food waste is a global disgrace; more than 30% of all food is wasted – good food that could have been eaten.
Food production is the single biggest impact humans have on the planet’s ecosystems – it’s responsible for 80% of deforestation, 70% of fresh water consumption, massive biodiversity loss and 30% of greenhouse gas emissions; yet globally, around a third of food is wasted – we’re literally trashing our planet to grow food that no-one eats.
This networking event will give you the opportunity to:
Listen to 3 food waste specialists give a TED talk style presentation with a panel | Discussion and Q&A after each | Technology/Innovation | Disruption | Commercial Adpotion | Network with like-minded people/organisations | Then afterwards, an option to network over music, drinks and canapés
The event is for anyone wishing to find out more about reducing food waste and strategies for doing this; therefore it is suitably aimed at: people responsible for managing waste, HR and training roles, people working in catering, those managing business facilities; or simply anyone who wishes to learn more personally. The talks will be wrapping up at about 8:30, and drinks too follow, so please do pop in when you can!
Everyone who registers to attend the event will also receive a free copy of the eLearning module – Preventing Waste: the Journey of Food.
