2) Farm Manager, Broiler & Poultry (East Africa)
The key responsibilities of the Farm Manager will include:
- Performs regular evaluations of broiler farm performance and the relation to costs.
- Offering training and development to field technicians and supervisors.
- Direct the programs for growing broilers
- Ensure Bio-security procedures are upheld throughout the operation.
- Monitor day to day flock health.
The Hatchery Manager will ideally have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry or similar.

4) Research Officer
The Research Officer (RO) will be principally responsible for leading the design, implementation and reporting of cost-effectiveness analyses across the Nutrition Unit’s operational research portfolio. This currently includes a variety of projects in South Sudan, Kenya, Burkina Faso and Senegal with future potential work across Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. The main responsibilities of the RO are to lead costing and cost-effectiveness research activities for protocol and tool development, data collection, analysis and reporting. This will include management of the teams in the field involved in these activities and require close coordination with the specific operational research teams.
The position will also support the Nutrition Unit’s portfolio of ongoing research and dissemination activities under the No Wasted Lives Initiative. This will be coordinated with the Head of Evidence and No Wasted Lives team members as opportunities arise.
